![]() ![]() There’s a little bit of something for everyone. Rise of the Tomb Raider has a captivating mix of tactical survivalism, puzzle solving and surprisingly refres hing fast paced combat. ( And start with my review of the first game here). However if you HAVEN’T played the 2013 reboot then read on friend, prepare to be enlightened. But this consistency isn’t a bad thing, it’s everything you know and love about Croft. It’s essentially the same schtick Lara falls down a lot, you have to climb a lot of things and can’t help but cringe when she screams in pain. A legacy that will see her falling down quite a few snowy mountain sides once again, naturally.įor those of you who’ve played the original game here’s the TL DR (because let’s face it you’ve already bought this game if you played the first one, you’re only reading this so we can bond over our love for Lara and be BFF’s, right?). Rise Of The Tomb Raider has everything I loved about the first game with a few new elements thrown in to keep things interesting. She’s off on another adventure, this time taking on the remote regions of Siberia in search of the truth her father sought before her. This time around we’re jumping 12 months into the future and after the events of the first game Lara hasn’t finished with all the hardship just yet. And now Lara is back in action once again in the sequel i’ve been counting down the days for. The 2013 reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise was my Game Of The Year pick two years in a row (if you count the HD remake). But when it comes down to my number one pick for 2015, it’s got to be hanging out with my badass BFF, Lara Croft in Rise Of The Tomb Raider. With incredible games dropping like bombs (get it? ’cause fallout), the end of 2015 is bound to be filled with weekends locked up inside battling it out against a hoard of zombies (Call Of Duty anyone?) or wielding your controller as a deadly lightsaber in the fight against the Sith (i’m sure you can see where i’m going with this).
